MATHEMATICSCIRCLES: The mathematics session began by sharing the previous knowledge of circles and the various terms related to circles and their properties. The students enjoyed the understanding of various theorems related to the circle and its chords. ENGLISHThe next chapter, a play 'If I Were You' written by Douglas James, was eagerly awaited by the Grade 9 students because it gave them the opportunity to perform a Role Play. Although the play had limited characters of Gerrard, Intruder, and the narrator, yet they had immense fun while performing it in the class. “A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid the mistake altogether.” This quote was discussed with the students, and the theme of the chapter was deduced. The students very enthusiastically conducted the activity with some enthralling performances of both narration and enactment. Post this, the students sharpened their listening skills, and the mock exams started thereafter. CIVICS/ECO-Through an interactive role-play on Democratic Rights, students not only grasped the foundational principles of democracy but also honed critical thinking skills and embraced collaborative learning. The hands-on experience provided a practical understanding of democratic governance, fostering civic responsibility. Additionally, our innovative Art Integrated Learning module delved into Fundamental Rights through visual arts. This interdisciplinary approach not only enriched students' creative expression but also deepened their appreciation for the rights embedded in our Constitution. Through reflective discussions, students shared insights and perspectives, promoting communication skills and critical thinking. These experiences aim to cultivate a holistic understanding of democratic and fundamental principles, empowering our students for a lifetime of engaged citizenship. SDG-16 Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. GEOGRAPHY-Students recently explored the topic of Population Size and Distribution, reflecting on the factors contributing to the uneven distribution in India. Their responses showcased a diverse range of perspectives. We delved into India's population distribution by density using maps, offering a visual understanding of the disparities across regions with the help of a map. The session extended to cover Population Growth and the Process of Population Change, with a review of key terms like Annual Growth Rate, Birth Rate, Death Rate, and Migration (both internal and international). An insightful discussion ensued as a guest speaker shared perspectives on the National Population Policy (NPP) and its objectives, enriching the students' understanding of real-world applications. SCIENCEPHYSICS-Harmony Unveiled: A Journey into Vibrations and the Symphony of Sound Students immersed themselves in the foundational concept of vibration, perceiving it as a swift oscillation around a central equilibrium position. This essential comprehension served as the cornerstone for their exploration into the realm of sound production. They skillfully articulated how activating a tuning fork or plucking a guitar string induced vibrations, setting in motion the captivating journey of sound waves. Engaging in hands-on exploration, students dissected the concept of loudness, understanding it as the subjective perception of a sound's volume or intensity. Through experimentation with varying amplitudes, they unraveled the direct correlation between changes in amplitude and our nuanced perception of volume. As their exploration of sound drew to a close, students emerged with a profound grasp of the intricate interplay between vibrations and the enchanting symphony of sound. Their enriched learning journey spanned from recognizing the inherent energy in sound to comprehending the transmission of waves through diverse mediums. Beyond theoretical knowledge, these budding scientists now carry a genuine appreciation for the scientific marvels that envelop us daily. The next time they encounter the melodic strains of their favorite tunes or the gentle rustling of leaves in the wind, it will be accompanied by a newfound awareness of the symphony of vibrations that orchestrates it all. CHEMISTRY-Nothing exists except atoms and empty spaces; everything else is an opinion. With the above-stated thought process, the learners were enlightened with a detailed understanding of various models of the atom proposed by different scientists. Learners found out the correct way to represent an element in terms of its atomic number and mass number and realized the fact that they can easily find out the number of protons, electrons, and neutrons if the mentioned information about any element is known to us. They also learned to calculate the formula mass of various compounds and how an isobar is different from an isotope. In the later part of the month, along with sports day practice in full rigor, learners were provided with thorough revision of the concepts planned for mock examinations. BIOLOGY-Practice makes progress! Students dived into the wonders of the Biology curriculum, and revision not only updated the content but also provided an enriched and engaging learning experience. Students weaved real-world examples into the curriculum to help them relate to the practical applications of biological concepts. ICTStudents delved into the intricacies of the communication cycle and its integral components. Through engaging activities like the Chinese whispers exercise, they gained insights into the potential challenges within communication processes. This hands-on experience underscored the significance of precision and clarity in effective communication. Moreover, the curriculum expanded to explore various methods of communication, emphasizing the vital roles of both verbal and non-verbal communication. Students delved into the nuances of gestures, expressions, and body language, recognizing their collective impact on effective communication. In the midst of the month, the focus shifted to self-management skills, guided by a session led by Ms. Gunjan Nagpal, our esteemed Psychology teacher. Leveraging the SWOT analysis framework, students gained a comprehensive understanding of factors contributing to self-management. The significance of confidence and its pivotal role in fostering productivity and focus became evident, providing students with valuable insights for personal and academic growth.
